Exploring Downtown Dallas
Downtown Dallas is a great place to start your escape to Dallas weekend adventure and just a few minutes from our boutique bed and breakfast. Start at Pioneer Plaza where you’ll find the world’s largest bronze longhorn sculpture along with 49 other bronze cattle and their cowboy drovers. From there, check out the Dallas Arts District, which is home to a variety of museums, including the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. Take a stroll through Klyde Warren Park, an urban oasis in the heart of downtown, and enjoy free fitness classes, live music, and food trucks. If you’re looking to shop, head to the flagship Neiman Marcus store or visit the boutiques in the West End Historic District. No visit to Dallas would be complete without a visit to Dealey Plaza, where the assassination of President John F. Kennedy took place. The Sixth Floor Museum, located in the former Texas School Book Depository building overlooking the plaza, offers a comprehensive look at the events surrounding the assassination. End your day with dinner at a Dallas favorite, such as Javier’s or Meso Maya. After dinner, catch a show at the iconic Majestic Theatre, which has been entertaining audiences since 1921.

Visiting the Fort Work Stockyards
The Fort Worth Stockyards are a must-visit destination that offers plenty of excitement and fun for your weekend getaway in Dallas. It is about a 45-minute drive from The Gaston, but definitely worth it. When you arrive at the Stockyards, you’ll be transported back to the old west. Explore the entire district, including the cattle drives, horseback rides, and rodeos that showcase the cowboy lifestyle. The Stockyards is also an ideal spot for western souvenirs, cowboy hats, authentic boots, and other cowboy-related merchandise. The Stockyards is also home to some of the most exciting rodeos in the country. Plan your Dallas visit around the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events or the Stockyards Championship Rodeo, or opt to see bull riding every night at Billy Bobs, the largest honky tonk in the country. The Stock Yards also offers many Texas dining options, such as BBQ, steak houses, or Joe T. Garcias – the famous Tex-Mex spot with incredible margaritas!
Explore The Bishop Arts District
If you’re looking for the perfect end to a fun-filled day in Dallas, look no further than the Bishop Arts District. This trendy neighborhood is packed with independent boutiques, delicious restaurants, and, of course, plenty of cocktails! Start your afternoon at Eno’s Pizza Tavern, where you can indulge in a wood-fired pizza and a craft beer or cocktail. Then, make your way over to the Bishop Cider Co. for a taste of their delicious hard ciders. Next, head to the Wild Detectives, a unique bookstore and coffeehouse where you can grab a latte and peruse the shelves. And if you’re looking for something a bit stronger, try the mezcal at Veracruz Cafe, a cozy spot known for its authentic Mexican cuisine, or one of the amazing craft cocktails at Bar Eden.
