The Gaston, originally a private residence, was purchased in 2017 by the Gibson family to be transformed into a stunning bed & breakfast that values edgy sophistication over traditional tea and doilies. Since its opening, The Gaston has been called a “hidden gem” by Dmagazine — and we couldn’t agree more.
Built in 1912, this charming craftsman bungalow was constructed on Gaston Avenue in East Dallas. The Gibson family purchased the property and began an immense renovation that celebrated the home’s heritage while upgrading the amenities and design for modern travelers. The home was turned into a boutique hotel and wedding and event center with 5 bedrooms, 5 ½ bathrooms, formal dining room, sunroom, and speakeasy.
Our romantic bed & breakfast in Dallas, TX features contemporary designs reminiscent of the house’s heritage. From the moody blue wallpaper in the dining room to the brick fireplace in the sitting room, along with the dark wooden beams, and crown molding throughout, we were able to restore much of the home’s historic charm with a Dallas-centric design during the remodel.
This boutique hotel features five Texas-themed guest suites, each with an ensuite bathroom. Every detail in The Gaston has been uniquely designed to preserve the historic home and represent a piece of local history.

Liz Gibson, an award-winning designer in Dallas and co-owner of The Gaston, designed every aspect of the property to whisk you away the moment you step through the door. Liz hand-picked every piece of decor throughout the house by frequenting antique stores, estate sales, and salvage yards. For her diligent work and eye for detail, Liz won the 2020 Preservation Dallas Award for her work on The Gaston.
As a guest, you will be welcomed by Maureene Gibson who runs the day-to-day operations at The Gaston, provides our guests with breakfast each day, and is available to help with any requests or recommendations you might need.
